Our keynote speaker, Mr Tai Lee Siang, Chair of the World Green Building Council will share his insights about how to transform commercial and industrial sectors and position green building as one of the most effective solutions for sustainable development and climate resilience. In this discussion on resource efficiency, which side of the fence should one be standing: reducing resource consumption and mass productivity; or a better provision in production system, material selection and reutilisation? Will there be a common ground where both can coexist to cope with demand from both ends through proper consumer education, waste and pollution control altogether for long term benefits of city dwellers? |

Session 6 - WASTE MANAGEMENT
Ms Akiko Doi from Global Environment Centre, Japan will speak about how waste management makes an important contribution to climate protection. At every stage of life, regardless of social status in any form of activity, energy consumption is inevitable. This includes the most neglected side of human civilisation where waste management is rarely a concern to many citizens. Speakers will share their experiences in waste separation and recycling of valuable materials which will save raw materials and reduce primary-energy use, cutting down CO2 emissions.
